Best 5-star Hotel
This category is applicable to all SCTA certified 5-star hotels and related to calendar year 2013.

Following nomination, shortlisted organizations will be requested to provide the judges detailed information, with supporting statistics, of special activities, new facilities or improved services. Details of achievements with regard to Saudiazation, improved staff training programs and CSR or environmental programs within the local community will also assist the nomination.

Best 4-Star Hotel
This category is applicable to all SCTA certified 4-star hotels and related to calendar year 2013.

The judges will be looking for details of new or improved facilities, innovative services, successful special promotions, enhanced levels of service, etc. Nominations should include details of specific activities with details of the improved results achieved.

Following nomination, shortlisted organizations will be requested to provide the judges detailed information, with supporting statistics, of special activities, new facilities or improved services. Details of achievements in regard to Saudiazation, improved staff training programs and CSR or environmental programs within the local community will also assist the nomination.

Best 3-Star Hotel or Motel
This category is for smaller, domestic hotels or motels anywhere in the Kingdom, with appropriate SCTA licensing.

Nominations should include details of new or upgraded services or facilities or exceptional activities undertaken between 1 January and 31 December 2013. Nominations should give details of activities or services that make the hotel stand out from other similar hotels.

Shortlisted nominees will be requested to provide detailed information of special achievements during 2013. This will include special promotions, new or improved facilities or service enhancements. Progress with Saudiazation or improved staff training programs or activities within the local community or with charities will help the nomination.

Best Specialized Accommodation
This category is open to any holiday village, tourism resort or recreational center providing specialized vacation, recreation or pastime activities. This includes adventure holidays, beach resorts, marinas, equestrian centers, golf clubs, etc.

Nominations should include details of special facilities as well as special facilities or services that set the property apart from local competitors. Details of new services, improved facilities or special promotions will help the nomination. Shortlisted nominees will be required to provide specific details of the facilities as well as improvements or enhancements made during the period of the Awards (calendar year 2012). Additional information on achievements regarding Saudiazation, staff training programs or local community work will add value to the nomination.

Best Furnished Apartments - Grade 1
This category is open to all furnished apartments and villas with the SCTA classification of Class 1. Nominations should include details of special services or new or improved facilities, successful special promotions undertaken during 2012.

For judging purposes, shortlisted nominations will be required to provide detailed information with documentary evidence of the business, any improved activities with full details of improved results.

Best Furnished Apartments - Grade 2 & 3
This category is open to all furnished apartments and villas with the SCTA classification of Class 2 or 3. Nominations should include details of special services or new or improved facilities, successful special promotions etc undertaken during 2012.

For judging purposes, shortlisted nominations will be required to provide detailed information with documentary evidence of the business, any improved activities with full details of improved results.

Best Hotel Program (Training, Environment or CSR)
This category is open to any hotel, motel or out-of-town accommodation that has introduced a program during 2012 that aims to improve the quality of their services, their interaction with their local community, reduce carbon emission, reduce waste or lower power consumption.

Shortlisted nominees will be expected to provide specific details of the program, its aims and benefits and the specific outcome of the program with associated benefits.
